{"id":979,"date":"2010-02-07T22:11:50","date_gmt":"2010-02-08T04:11:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.realtimerendering.com\/blog\/?p=979"},"modified":"2010-02-07T22:11:50","modified_gmt":"2010-02-08T04:11:50","slug":"game-developers-submit-a-siggraph-talk-before-february-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.realtimerendering.com\/blog\/game-developers-submit-a-siggraph-talk-before-february-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Game developers &#8211; submit a SIGGRAPH Talk before February 18!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The deadline for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siggraph.org\/s2010\/for_submitters\/talks#how\">submitting a Talk<\/a> to SIGGRAPH is February 18 &#8211; less than two weeks away as I&#8217;m writing this.\u00a0 Although the time is short, all game developers working in graphics should seriously consider submitting one; it&#8217;s not a lot of work, and the potential benefits are huge.\u00a0 As a member of the 2010 conference committee, I thought I&#8217;d take a little time to elucidate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.siggraph.org\/s2010\/\">SIGGRAPH 2010<\/a> is in Los Angeles this summer.\u00a0 Although most people think of SIGGRAPH in connection with <a href=\"http:\/\/kesen.huang.googlepages.com\/sig2009.html\">academic papers<\/a>, it is also where film production people share <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siggraph.org\/s2009\/sessions\/talks\/details\/?type=talk&amp;id=77\">practical tips and tricks<\/a>, show off <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siggraph.org\/s2009\/sessions\/talks\/details\/?type=talk&amp;id=71\">cool things they did on their last film<\/a>, learn <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siggraph.org\/s2009\/sessions\/talks\/details\/?type=talk&amp;id=73\">from their colleagues<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siggraph.org\/s2009\/community\/birds\/index.php\">make professional connections<\/a>.\u00a0 Over the last few years, there has been a steadily growing game developer presence as well, which is exciting because SIGGRAPH is a unique opportunity for these two graphics communities to meet and learn from each other.
