Table of contents <a href=\"https:\/\/gpuzen.blogspot.com\/\">here<\/a>. I reviewed the 96 (!) page article on Cyberpunk 2077 and look forward to reading the rest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You prefer free books? I&#8217;m late to the party, only recently learning about Eugene d&#8217;Eon&#8217;s book, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/eugenedeon.com\/hitchhikers\">A Hitchhiker\u2019s Guide to Multiple Scattering<\/a><\/em>. Don&#8217;t judge it by the title, it&#8217;s a serious reference for equations about all sorts of scattering. 741 pages, 175 of which are the bibliography.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Activision released <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.activision.com\/activision\/2024\/activision-releases-call-of-duty-warzone-caldera-data-set\">the large model, Caldera<\/a>, from Call of Duty in USD form, for free for testing. It and other free USD models are listed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realtimerendering.com\/portal.html\">our portal page<\/a>, item 21.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yes, I admit an interest in Minecraft. Fun things seen lately include <a href=\"https:\/\/boingboing.net\/2024\/10\/21\/lifeskins-concept-blows-minds-turn-your-home-into-a-minecraft-world-or-mad-men-office-videos.html\">this mock-up<\/a> &#8220;live in a Minecraft (and many other) world(s) through AR&#8221; concept video. Enjoy (and ignore the various things wrong with the idea).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And of course <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VRqy0WWFaA8\">a ray-tracing system made with Minecraft<\/a> is clearly what is needed to render the frames.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Here&#8217;s a new <a href=\"https:\/\/killedbyapixel.github.io\/TinyCode\/256B\/BitwiseLiminal\/\">256-byte demoscene film<\/a>. I love the &#8220;start of a horror film&#8221; description below it. Too big? The same person has <a href=\"https:\/\/killedbyapixel.github.io\/TinyCode\/\">a 128 byte program<\/a> and lots of other fun works. More info <a href=\"https:\/\/boingboing.net\/2024\/02\/28\/a-short-film-generated-by-only-256-bytes-of-code.html\">here<\/a>, including <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/callumlocke\/bitwise-liminal-expanded\">a reverse engineering<\/a> of the demo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doom, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realtimerendering.com\/blog\/seven-things-for-december-26-2022\/\">it&#8217;s everywhere<\/a>, the graphics equivalent of &#8220;hello world&#8221; (well, it&#8217;s a tad more work than that&#8230; maybe more like a test of how capable a device&#8217;s display is?). Here&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/weirdest-consoles-you-can-play-doom-on\/\">one summary<\/a> of some devices (so meta: it runs on a modified chainsaw). There&#8217;s even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/itrunsdoom\/\">a Reddit group<\/a>.
