Closed for Christmas, but <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VRChatKmart?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\">now back and chock-full<\/a> of post-holiday White Sale and bluelight specials, along with everyday deals, like buying six cassette tapes and getting the seventh free. One explanation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/vrchat-kmart-employees-store\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li>Put &#8220;Doom running on&#8221; in Google and you&#8217;ll see some fun autocompletes. The pregnancy test one&#8217;s a hoax. But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamedeveloper.com\/programming\/anyway-here-s-classic-fps-doom-running-inside-of-notepad\">running Doom in Windows Notepad<\/a> seems legit.<\/li><li>There&#8217;s candy bar Doom, which is frankly pretty dumb but for the slogan, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6V_ofcX9cic\">do not eat if it&#8217;s Turing complete<\/a>.&#8221;<\/li><li>You might have missed how rats have been <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/viktor-toth-doom-rat\">trained to play Doom II<\/a>. They don&#8217;t seem to be very good at it, though, but are <a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=qMNxkQXwykA&amp;feature=shares\">kinda cute running on the ball<\/a>.<\/li><li>Sadly, <a href=\"https:\/\/boingboing.net\/2021\/06\/14\/doom-running-on-an-ikea-lamp.html\">Doom running on an IKEA TR\u00c5DFRI GU10 RGB lamp controller<\/a> has only left a trace after a takedown. But, through the magic of archive.org, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210614073810\/https:\/\/next-hack.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/12\/lets-port-doom-to-an-ikea-tradfri-lamp\/\">there&#8217;s more that can be unearthed<\/a>, including <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/gbuzogany\/MG21DOOM\">the code<\/a> (but not the video, sadly).<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/kathack.com\/\">Katamari Hack<\/a>. The items above are all pretty involved to do yourself. This last one&#8217;s a little fussy to get going, but just 30 seconds work. On <a href=\"http:\/\/kathack.com\/\">that page<\/a> is a bit of Javascript at the top, in a box. Copy it. Go to some web page, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210614073810\/https:\/\/next-hack.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/12\/lets-port-doom-to-an-ikea-tradfri-lamp\/\">this one<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/erich.realtimerendering.com\/\">this<\/a>, on Chrome (may work on others) and hit F12 (on the PC; on a Mac it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/website\/how-to-inspect\">command-option-i<\/a>). In the debug area that appears, choose the Console tab, paste the Javascript, hit return. A dialog should appear in the web page. Hit &#8220;Start!&#8221; and then right-click hold to roll the ball around. Have fun!
