I was particularly impressed with their video production for last year&#8217;s virtual conference.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/i3dsymposium.github.io\/2021\/cfp.html\">I3D 2021&#8217;s posters submission<\/a> deadline has been extended to next Tuesday, March 30th.<\/li>\n<li>Yet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shadertoy.com\/view\/NslGRN\">another fantastic shadertoy<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The book <em>3D Math Primer for Graphics and Game Development, 2nd ed.<\/em>, is now <a href=\"https:\/\/gamemath.com\/\">free for download<\/a>. In a similar vein, I finally noticed that the book <em>Learn OpenGL<\/em> is also <a href=\"https:\/\/learnopengl.com\/\">free for download<\/a>. They&#8217;ve both been added to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtimerendering.com\/#intro\">my list<\/a>. There&#8217;s something to be said for physical versions, however, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/digital-textbooks-radical-transformation\/\">researchers are finding retention of information is lower<\/a> when read digitally.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/programming-languages-this-old-favourite-tops-the-charts-again\/\">By one metric<\/a>, the C language is still the top programming language.<\/li>\n<li>When you want your random numbers fast, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/fastest-laser-random-number-generator-102542886.html\">use lasers<\/a>. If you&#8217;re mellow and not in a rush, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudflare.com\/learning\/ssl\/lava-lamp-encryption\/\">use lava lamps<\/a>\u00a0(bonus fact: <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lavarand\">Silicon Graphics also did this<\/a> back around 1997, and the patents have evidently expired).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/perfectloops\/comments\/mcc7u9\/the_lines_and_circle_are_not_moving\/\">The lines and the circles are not moving.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seven things: The High-Performance Graphics 2021 conference call for participation\u00a0is up, virtual conference will be July 6-9.
