List at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/rtrt2019\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/rtrt2019<\/a><\/strong>, which took me way longer to collate than I expected. Additions appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>Of these, here are ones I won&#8217;t miss:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Sunday 9am &#8211; 12:15pm, Room 152,<\/b>\u00a0SIGGRAPH Course:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/presentation\/?id=gensub_126&amp;sess=sess188\">Are We Done with Ray Tracing?<\/a><\/b>\u00a0&#8211; answer&#8217;s clearly yes, so I&#8217;m attending for some career counseling.<\/li>\n<li><b>Monday 9am &#8211; 12:15pm, Room 408AB,<\/b>\u00a0SIGGRAPH Course:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/presentation\/?id=gensubcur_120&amp;sess=sess344\">Advances in Real-Time Rendering in Games: Part 1<\/a><\/b>, moderator: Natalya Tatarchuk, who says she&#8217;ll talk about ray tracing a bit (she&#8217;s at Unity Technologies)<\/li>\n<li><b>Tuesday 2pm &#8211; 3pm, Room 501AB,<\/b>\u00a0NVIDIA Presents:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/events\/siggraph\/schedule\/\">Optimizing and Deploying Ray-Traced Dynamic Global Illumination<\/a><\/b>, Morgan McGuire. Rumor has it this should be a cool talk.<\/li>\n<li><b>Tuesday 2pm &#8211; 5:15pm, Room 403AB,<\/b>\u00a0SIGGRAPH Course:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/presentation\/?id=gensubcur_122&amp;sess=sess345\">Open Problems in Real-Time Rendering<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>&#8211; d&#8217;oh, it overlaps with Morgan&#8217;s talk, but I hope to catch the rest.<\/li>\n<li><b>Tuesday 6pm &#8211; 7:45pm, West Hall B,<\/b>\u00a0Event:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/conference\/programs-events\/real-time-live\/\">Real-Time Live!<\/a><\/b>\u00a0&#8211; I kinda debated this one (there&#8217;s also the Cornell Dinner), but it includes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/presentation\/?id=real_140&amp;sess=sess104\">ray tracing on mobile GPUs<\/a> &#8211; that tips the scale.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are a bunch of other courses and talks at other times I&#8217;ll be at, but these are the ones I&#8217;m particularly interested in and can attend.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the &#8220;hmmm, many things are going on at once, which do I choose?&#8221; part of the conference:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Monday 2pm &#8211; 5:15pm, Room 408AB,<\/b>\u00a0SIGGRAPH Course:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/presentation\/?id=gensubcur_121&amp;sess=sess343\">Advances in Real-Time Rendering in Games: Part 2<\/a><\/b>, moderator: Natalya Tatarchuk &#8211; always some great talks here<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Monday 2pm &#8211; 5:15pm, Room 501AB,<\/b>\u00a0NVIDIA Presents:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/session\/?sess=sess394\">GPU Ray Tracing for Film and Design<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; <\/b>stuff I should know about for my own work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Monday 3pm &#8211; 7:30pm, The Orpheum Theatre, 842 South Broadway,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unrealengine.com\/en-US\/events\/join-the-unreal-engine-enterprise-team-at-siggraph-2019\">Unreal Engine SIGGRAPH 2019 User Group Meeting<\/a><\/b>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/unreal-engine-siggraph-2019-user-group-meeting-tickets-63582734671\">register<\/a>) &#8211; stuff I&#8217;d also like to know more about. Note you have to register in advance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Monday 3:30pm &#8211; 4:30pm, Room 406B,<\/b>\u00a0Intel Exhibitor Session:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/session\/?sess=sess474\">Ray Tracing with Intel Embree and Intel OSPRay: Use Cases and Updates<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; <\/b>what&#8217;s up with Intel?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are the ones I can&#8217;t miss, since I&#8217;m involved:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Emerging Technologies, <a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/presentation\/?id=gensub_152&amp;sess=sess289\">Matching Visual Acuity and Prescription: Towards AR for Humans<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<\/b>Some next steps in lightweight AR.\u00a0I didn&#8217;t work on this, but I&#8217;m helping out in the booth Sunday 1-5:30, so stop on by.<\/li>\n<li><b>Tuesday 10am &#8211; 10:25am, NVIDIA booth #1313,<\/b>\u00a0Booth Talk:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/events\/siggraph\/schedule\/\">A Fast Forward through\u00a0<i>Ray Tracing Gems<\/i><\/a><\/b>\u00a0&#8211; 32 papers in 25 minutes, so if I speak at 400 WPM I&#8217;ll be fine.<\/li>\n<li><b>Tuesday 11am &#8211; 12 noon, Room 507, Los Angeles Convention Center,<\/b>\u00a0Birds of a Feather:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/presentation\/?id=bof_143&amp;sess=sess521\">Ray Tracing Roundtable<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;<\/b>\u00a0I&#8217;m the &#8220;organizer.&#8221; This will be in a 60-person room with whoever shows up first and wants to talk informally about ray tracing R&amp;D. No presentations or other planned activities &#8211; I give an intro, we <em>quickly<\/em> introduce ourselves, then real-time parallel processing happens. That is, it&#8217;s a cocktail party without the cocktails, or the party &#8211; just the talk, with whoever shows up.<\/li>\n<li><b>Wednesday 2pm &#8211; 5:15pm, Room 501AB,<\/b>\u00a0NVIDIA Presents:\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/news.developer.nvidia.com\/nvidia-leading-the-ray-tracing-discussion-at-siggraph-2019\">Ray Tracing Gems 1.1<\/a><\/b>\u00a0&#8211; I&#8217;m chairing, and am looking forward to hearing these talks, which will include progress since the book was published (e.g., the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.nvidia.com\/publication\/2019-07_Dynamic-Many-Light-Sampling\">new work presented at HPG<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>Wednesday 5:30pm &#8211; 6pm, SIGGRAPH bookseller, outside Room 403,<\/b>\u00a0Book Signing:\u00a0<b><i><a href=\"http:\/\/raytracinggems.com\/\">Ray Tracing Gems<\/a><\/i><\/b>\u00a0&#8211; meet some of the contributors; you will be a sad panda if you miss it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As far as evening activities go, as usual SIGGRAPH needs to have twice as many nights as it provides. For everyone, Sunday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/session\/?sess=sess103\">Fast Forward<\/a>; Monday&#8217;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/session\/?sess=sess573\">sake party<\/a>, Electronic Theater, <a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/conference\/programs-events\/reception\/\">SIGGRAPH Reception<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/session\/?sess=sess591\">Chapters Party<\/a>; Tuesday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/s2019.siggraph.org\/conference\/programs-events\/real-time-live\/\">Real-Time Live<\/a>; Wednesday&#8217;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.khronos.org\/events\/2019-siggraph\">Khronos reception<\/a>\u00a0(and I don&#8217;t want to think of all the good <a href=\"https:\/\/www.khronos.org\/events\/2019-siggraph\">Khronos presentations<\/a> I&#8217;m missing that day).
