Think of it as your one-stop blog for computer graphics. I wasn&#8217;t sure if he&#8217;d stick with it, seems like a lot of work to me, but he&#8217;s nearing a year&#8217;s worth of issues.<\/li>\n<li>The free, weekly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/us10.campaign-archive.com\/home\/?u=150309eb87448af24dead4fe6&amp;id=285452b655\">Level Up Report<\/a>\u00a0by Mark DeLoura provides pointers to all sorts of developments and resources for\u00a0learning through games, coding, and making.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/satori.us10.list-manage.com\/subscribe?u=150309eb87448af24dead4fe6&amp;id=285452b655\">Subscribe<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.economist.com\/science-and-technology\/2018\/06\/23\/some-science-journals-that-claim-to-peer-review-papers-do-not-do-so\">Predatory Open Access journals<\/a> &#8211; recent summary from <em>The Economist<\/em>, with some sad tales. Wikipedia notes <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Predatory_open-access_publishing\">some other sting operations<\/a>, and also gives <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jeffrey_Beall#Counter-criticism\">some counter-criticism<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Open source&#8217;s use in commercial products <a href=\"https:\/\/www.helpnetsecurity.com\/2018\/05\/22\/open-source-code-security-risk\/\">is on the rise<\/a>, with a surprising average of 57% of the code in a proprietary application&#8217;s codebase being open.<\/li>\n<li>Jamie Wong created a pleasant, profusely illustrated <a href=\"http:\/\/jamie-wong.com\/post\/color\/\">introduction to color science<\/a>\u00a0for computer graphics display.<\/li>\n<li>I truly start with NVIDIA in August. With my time off, I&#8217;ve been occasionally finding time to have fun, with little projects in three.js such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtimerendering.com\/erich\/illusions\/waves.html\">this editable illusion<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0this local\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/datanimusic\">demoparty entry<\/a>, and my <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/erich666\/chex_latex\">chex_latex script<\/a> now works on plain text files (yes, after too much time on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtimerendering.com\/blog\/real-time-rendering-4th-edition-available-in-august-2018\/\">The Book<\/a>, I find copy editing fun, or at least a compulsion).
