To your &#039;free GPU memory on Windows&#039; question: there&#039;s a lot of talks about it on the DirectX dev list, so try to do a search there and you&#039;ll surely find more comprehensive answer but, as far as I know, the official answer in a nutshell is &quot;there&#039;s no officialy supported way, because there&#039;s no good definition of what that GPU memory is&quot;. People have been complaining about it for ages, but I think Microsoft learned a lesson before and got it right in this one by not providing a solution that only works most of the time. But of course people end up doing quirky queries anyway... As I said, there&#039;s plenty info there.
